S7+ 8GB actually costs more than the more powerful S8 here, and the S7 FE 6GB is at best slightly cheaper than the S8. I don’t know wich Galaxy Tab S7 you have in mind, there’s so many models (S7, S7+, S7 FE in multiple variants), but none of them seem very attractively priced here in Germany. And while AFAIK possible since Win11, running the 圆4 version emulated will probably not perform very well. It’s so sad that tablets with more than 8GB RAM cost an arm and a leg…only the Microsoft Surface Pro X has 16GB at a decent price (although slightly dated SoC but still decent).īut Windows on ARM is still a problem…at least I recently saw some contribution to help building Krita for that natively, but so far there are no official builds. I was wondering if anybody can help me on this one. Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra (Screen is quite big though I will likely have zero problems fitting it in one of my two bags but this tablet can be paired in 12 GB and 16 GB RAM configurations which is a big plus) Galaxy Tab S8+ (bigger screen is a plus over the original S8 which holds zero notable advantages over the S8+ for me, I was likely thinking here because 8 GB might be sufficient without paying more for the higher end model) Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (the obvious budget option though I prefer a slightly bigger screen, doing 600 ppi drawings is not viable on this though, I don’t even know if 300 ppi drawings are if the OS alone uses 2 GB of RAM) So there are some tablets I do have in mind (if there are better ones besides Samsung I am all ears): Opening and working on 300 ppi drawings doesn’t use a whole lot of RAM (although with enough effects it can go to over 1 GB), but at 600 ppi, the number seems to quadruple (exceeds 4 GB, which makes sense that it would quadruple, that is intuitive to me) and this is where lower end Android tablets do become a problem for Krita (not knocking down some of them of course but if it’s insufficient it’s insufficient). If I switch down to 300 ppi (or limit certain pages to 600 ppi). The challenge involved is choosing the hardware and figuring out if I should continue doing drawings at 600 ppi (with A4 that is around 4.9kx7.0k) and 300 ppi (a quarter the amount of pixels). So for starters my drawings are more based on comics and not anything super realistic, which I assume lowers my RAM requirements (but with my laptop having 32 GB, again is zero problem any how). I haven’t found too many discussions on Krita and RAM Capacity, which I find interesting since surely it must be an issue for lower capacity devices, but maybe I am misunderstanding something, so I wanted to ask about this myself. I do have a laptop and of course has zero problems running Krita on it, except the battery life on my laptop with the graphics tablet (an XP-Pen 13.3" Display Graphics Tablet, forgot the exact name) connected to it is less than stellar. Hello, I been using Krita for drawing for quite some time and I have been thinking about getting an Android tablet to make my work (not really a job but a hobby, you get the idea) more mobile.
